Due to political instability in my home country, I began considering studying abroad. I had heard that Japanese people are diligent and disciplined, which sparked my interest in learning more about Japan and ultimately led me to decide to study here. To be honest, I enrolled at Kamei Gakuen Japanese Language School Kyoto Campus through an introduction agency in Myanmar, and I did not research the school in depth before coming to Japan. However, after attending classes, I realized that this school is not merely a place to learn Japanese, but a warm, family-like community.Studying abroad, away from my parents, naturally brings concerns not only about education but also about meals, health, and social life.

At Kamei Gakuen Japanese Language School Kyoto Campus, however, there are teachers I can easily consult about any problem. This sense of security allows me to enjoy learning Japanese while receiving support to achieve my goals, such as advancing to universities or vocational schools.

We are Ilyas Fatima (older sister) and Ilyas Manur (younger sister).
We are twin sisters, Ilyas Fatima and Ilyas Manur, currently studying Japanese at Kamei Gakuen Japanese Language School Kyoto Campus. When we first enrolled, our level was N5, and we were often told that N3 would be difficult and N1 nearly impossible. Nevertheless, we set N1 as our goal from the beginning and continued to work hard under the guidance of our teachers. Although it was by no means easy, we learned the importance of persevering and never giving up.During our studies in Japan, when my younger sister was hospitalized and underwent surgery, we received support from both the surgeons and our school teachers. This experience made us deeply appreciate the value of being a doctor. In the future, we aspire to become physicians, and specifically surgeons, dedicated to saving lives.

We are also deeply grateful to our parents and teachers for supporting us, especially as women from Pakistan, where studying abroad is still uncommon.

I decided to study abroad to learn Japanese language and culture. At first, we struggled with kanji and conversation, but we have been gradually improving. The teachers are very kind and teach not only grammar and vocabulary but also practical Japanese in a careful and thorough manner. If we do not understand something, they explain it as many times as needed and adjust the lessons according to each student’s level of understanding. They also provide individual guidance regarding further studies and future plans, allowing us to study with confidence as we work toward our goals.

Through extracurricular activities, we have experienced Japanese culture and made friends with students from various countries. Speaking Japanese with classmates while learning about each other’s cultures is very enjoyable. Teachers and staff are always available for support, making the school feel like a second home. We will cherish our experiences here as we pursue our dreams.

As a child, I grew up watching many Japanese anime, such as Dragon Ball. As I grew older, I realized that Japan has many attractions beyond anime. I found that Japanese culture shares many similarities with my own, which makes it feel familiar and approachable. I also have a great passion for cars. Japan is world-famous for its automotive industry, which is one of the main reasons I became strongly interested in the country.I felt that Kyoto was the best place to learn Japanese language and culture. While researching, I discovered that Kamei Gakuen not only offers a Japanese language school but also an automotive vocational school. This perfectly aligns with my interests and future goals, which led me to decide to enroll at Kamei Gakuen.

After enrollment, I received important support as an international student, including help with housing and various procedures immediately after arriving in Japan. The teachers and staff have always been kind and encouraging. I am deeply grateful for their continuous support and guidance.
